META provides next-day training to project staff on active projects where special accreditation needs are discovered on-site after the project has begun. META can get you qualified and keep your project moving. In case of emergencies, such as the hurricane response in the southeastern U.S., this includes after-hours and extended evening courses.

Do you need multi-lingual training?

META trains non-English speaking crews, identifying and qualifying instructors, translating materials, and obtaining necessary approvals on your schedule.

Do your employees have special needs?

META trainers have successfully trained individuals with limited academic backgrounds, academic abilities, and limited work experience without compromising on outcomes or the integrity of our training programs.

7 More Reasons
  1. Mobility: META maintains training centers in Lawrence, KS; Nashville, TN, Tampa, FL; Jacksonville, FL; St. Louis, MO (in cooperation with St. Louis University); Honolulu, HI; Omaha, NE; St. Paul, MN; and El Paso, TX. We teach about 60% of our classes in these training centers and 40% at remote locations. While we are not immune to the issues facing a mobile training program, we have the years of experience it takes to anticipate and deal with them. META regularly trains in some 25 states and overseas.
  2. Accreditations: META is the nation’s leader in lead and asbestos accreditation. We hold over 150 state and federal accreditations. Our certificates are more valuable in many cases because they are recognized in more states than other providers.
  3. Corporate Experience: META has been offering accredited asbestos training since 1986. We have been presenting lead classes since 1990, so we have been a part of the lead industry from its infancy. Operating in multiple states, we can offer good ideas and experience from around the nation.
  4. Experienced Trainers: META’s trainers are experienced and knowledgeable. Most of our staff has trained with us at least 5 years, and several have been trainers 10 to 25 years. Most of the staff has 4 year college degrees in technical areas or education.
  5. Quality and Compliance: META is committed to conducting its training by the book. We have our students submit anonymous evaluations of each class, which are reviewed by the training manager with every trainer. As an quality-focused organization, recognizing the frailty of human nature, we are committed to policing ourselves and constantly improving our product.
  6. Recognition: META is recognized as a national leader in environmental and safety training. META’s founder and president, Brad Mayhew, has represented META as an invited speaker at the Environmental Information Association National Conference, the Tennessee Safety Congress, the National Environmental Trainers Association, the St. Louis branch of the Certified Hazardous Materials Managers, the Kansas Housing Authority Managers, and the Florida Association of Code Enforcers Conference, among others.
  7. Reliability: META maintains the position of “trainer-of-choice” for a number of agencies and organizations, including Housing Authorities (TN Housing Authority, Tampa, FL, Omaha, NE), contractors (Sykes Lead Cleaning, JP Cripps Construction, Jacksonville Construction), schools (Pinellas Schools, University of Nebraska), consultants (Law Engineering, PSI, Pickering), industrial clients (NPS Energy, FL Dept. of Transportation)and federal agencies (US Coast Guard, Tinker AFB, US Navy). META was selected to provide HUD sponsored training in 9 states, more states than any other three providers combined.

Multi-state approvals:

  • One of the main reasons we have stayed in this ever-changing industry is that we have learned how to help you, our customers, navigate your way through each state’s rules and regulations. We go over the differences, additions, and improvements that each state has made to the federal rulings and help you understand how to best do your jobs in the field, in whatever state or states you are working in.
  • One of the advantages to training with us is that, with some exceptions, you can sit through one training course that covers all of the information to work in all the states you need to conduct your business in, instead of spending hours going over the same material with the slight adjustments that each state has made. This saves time and is financially efficient.
  • We recognize that students come to us in varying levels of educational proficiency, so we strive to accommodate all learning levels and styles.
  • META trainers have successfully trained individuals with limited academic backgrounds, academic abilities, and limited work experience without compromising the outcome or the integrity of our training programs, while respectful of the individual.
