Asbestos Supervisor Refresher (8 hours) Online

Objectives:

The purpose and objectives of this course are to fulfill the AHERA annual refresher requirements for supervisors and to conduct training as specified by OSHA and AHERA’s regulations.

The 14 modules cover training areas including: (1) Asbestos characteristics, (2) Potential health effects, (3) State of the art work practices, (4) Personal hygiene and PPE, (5) Safety hazards, (6) Air monitoring, (7) Insurance and liability issues, (8) Respiratory protection programs and medical surveillance program, (9) Regulations, (10) Supervisory techniques, (11) Contract specifications, (12) Recordkeeping, (13) Vignettes (Optional module), and (14) Final exam.

Descriptions:

The course begins with verification of students’ identity and pertinent information and ends with another step of student verification to mark the completion of the course. Students are required to provide documentation of the initial supervisor training or previous supervisor refresher course. In each module, students will interact and engage in video demonstrations and pre-recorded video interviews with META’s experienced and certified instructors. Students will be tested on the content covered in each module by providing the correct answers to review questions that are in various formats (multiple choices, matching, true or false, short essay, etc.). Students will upload self-recorded videos or audio files to provide their own understanding and prior work experience with certain work scenarios to reinforce memory and comprehension and engage with the course content.

Certificate:

Students will receive the course certificate in a PDF file within 24 hours upon completion during weekdays and within 48 hours if completing the course on the weekends.
